On Friday night Jan. 12, Interstate 84 will close in both directions between Interstate 5 and Interstate 205.

The closure will begin at 11 p.m. Friday with all lanes scheduled to re-open by 6 a.m. Saturday Jan. 13. Single lane closures and some ramp closures on I-84 will start as early as 8 p.m.

Travelers should use alternative routes.

The full closure of I-84 will include all on-and-off ramps to and from I-84 between I-5 and I-205, including:

• OMSI/Central Eastside Industrial District off-ramp from I-5 northbound
• All ramps from I-5 and I-205 to I-84
• Ramp to I-84 eastbound from the Morrison Bridge

During the closure, two crews will install new electronic sign structures at two different locations on I-84. The work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of strong wind.
