EDIT: The date for CCIM at City Council has been changed to November 15th at 2pm
CCIM will go to City Council on November 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm to present a total of 18 project bundles to be approved. The implementation of the projects are divided into 2 phases: 1-5 year and 6-10 years.
This is a very important transportation plan. We urge you to take a close look and write to/ testify at City Council!
Central Eastside projects in the 1-5yr phase: protected bike lanes on both sides of 7th Ave and pedestrian upgrades, protected bike lanes and pedestrian upgrades on Salmon St, dedicated bus and bike lanes on Hawthorne, dedicated bus lane and pedestrian upgrades on Burnside.
In order to be able to implement many of these projects, PBOT is proposing lane and parking removals. Of the projects proposed in the Central Eastside in the 1-5 year plan, the 7th Ave project would result in the most amount of parking loss, about 100 spaces, one side of the street between Sandy and Division. This article from the Oregonian gives a good overview of all 18 project projects citywide. You can also find all of the cross-sections on their website .
If you have any questions about the project, you may also reach out directly to our Transportation & Parking Program Manager Rina Jimmerson rina@ceic.cc
