Then mark your calendars for January 29th, as our next ‘Get-To-Know-Your-Neighbor’ Networking tour will be held at the infamous Portland Bottling Company.
Here’s your chance to get an up-close tour of the inter-workings of a company that can produce 20,000 – 50,000 cases per day of such beverages as Pepsi, Sobe, Hanson’s and Rockstar.
Come sample beverages, network with other CEIC members and learn how Portland Bottling is able to package more than 50 different flavors of carbonated soft drinks and functional beverages. Plus, refreshments will be provided after the tour with additional networking opportunities.

As another benefit of being a CEIC member, a new speaker series will be starting to help CEID businesses develop in all areas. From experts in banking, real estate, human resources, web development and security issues, the topics will cover some of the top issues that businesses face today.
These free seminars are expected to last 30 – 45 minutes and will be scheduled during lunchtime and after 5:00PM. They will be held at various locations throughout the CEID.

The Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) has been working with the CEIC, transportation and bike associations along with surrounding neighborhoods to turn SE Clay Street into a Green Street.
The plan would effect SE Clay from the Willamette River to SE 12th Ave. The goal is to make Clay Street more biker and pedestrian friendly with new curbs, artwork, and bike lanes while redirecting storm water runoff. It is estimated that once complete – currently scheduled to be early 2014 – it will help divert 74,000 gallons of storm water runoff.
At of cost of $1.5 million, the project will improve crosswalks, add curb extensions and trees while making corners easier for trucks to navigate through the district.
