You’ve all read the news that Columbia Sports Wear may consider the Burnside Bridgehead as a new site for their corporate headquarters. Could there be more exciting news? Could there be a more perfect company for this project?

It is so much more than the 700 + jobs Columbia Sports Wear would bring to the district. It is about the businesses that would move here to be where it’s at, to be near this creative industry, Portland friendly company. It’s about placing a manufacturing company smack dab in the middle of the Central Eastside and bringing a Portland company back home.

We sure hope City Hall will do what ever it takes to bring Columbia Sports Wear back to PDX and the Burnside Bridgehead. The CEIC board will keep the presure on but we need all of your help in voicing the urgency of making sure the folks at the City know that the people of Portland want Columbia Sports Wear back and in the Central City where they belong.

If you know anyone at Columbia Sports please write to them and tell them what a great place this Central Eastside is. Write your City Commissioners and Mayor Potter, tell them to make this happen! Then cross your fingers, and go buy a CSW coat.
